Michelson in town
Singer-songwriter Jackson Michelson is set to play at 8 p.m. July 11 at Vista Ranch and Cellars, 7326 E State Highway 140, in Merced. He’s played on the same ticket with Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and Sawyer Brown. Tickets are $20 ahead of time and $25 at the door. Comedy show in Merced
A comedy show is set for 8 p.m. July 11 at Gateway Gardens, 560 W. 18th St., in Merced. The lineup features Mike E. Winfield, who has appeared on NBC’s “The Office” and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman,” and comedians Butch Escobar and Carlos Rodriguez. Gospel country show

Film noir to show
The Merced 13 theater plans a special showing of “Double Indemnity,” Billy Wilder’s 1944 film noir classic starring Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray. The showing is on conjunction with the TCM channel. The film is scheduled to play at 2 and 7 p.m. July 19 and 20.
Playhouse gala
“A Night at the Opry” is the theme of Playhouse Merced’s largest fundraiser of the year, supporting the theater’s diverse community programs. The gala will be 6:30 to 11 p.m. Aug. 15 in Bob Hart Square in downtown Merced. Tickets go on sale July 15 for $75 each; a table of eight costs $750 and a table of eight VIPs is $1,000. Beach Boys tribute
