Marvel Series Led by a ‘Bold and the Beautiful' Alum Earns One of Media's Most Prestigious Honors
Former The Bold and the Beautiful star Diamond White celebrated on social media after her animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur won a prestigious Peabody award.
White shared a photo on Instagram showing her shocked reaction to the news. She captioned the post, "MY SHOW MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR WON A PEABODY. A. PEA. BODDDYYYYYYY." She also tagged Marvel, Disney Television Animation and the show's official account.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur premiered on February 10, 2023 and ran for a total of 41 episodes. The series received a Peabody Award in the Chidren's and Youth category.
The series is based off the Marvel comic created by Brandon Montclare and Amy Reeder with the artist being Natacha Bustos.
The show follows Lunella Lafayette, voiced by White, a 13-year-old genius living on New York City's Lower East Side. After accidentally opening a portal that brings a Tyrannosaurs Rex into her world. Ultimately, Lunella becomes Moon Girl and teams up with Devil Dinosaur to protect the city with help from her friend Casey (Libe Barer).
The voice cast also featured major stars including Laurence Fishburne (Beyonder), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson(Nick Fury) and many more.
Following the series finale of the show, the characters appeared in an episode of Spidey and His Amazing Friends titled Moon Girl and the Dino Dilemma.
White previously portrayed the role of Paris Buckingham on The Bold and the Beautiful between 2020 and 2024. The actresses credits include portraying Tiffany Simmons in multiple of Tyler Perry's Madea's projects, as well as providing voice work in various series including Phineas and Ferb, Transformers: Rescue Bots, and The Lion King spinoff The Lion Guard.
The Peabody Awards looks to honor what are described as the most powerful, enlightening and invigorating stories across various forms of media including online, radio and television.
In addition to the Peabody award, the series has also won five Children's and Family Emmy Awards.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is streaming now on Disney+.
