Merced County Fair, Shakespeare and tribute bands highlight June entertainment

Summer is nearly here, so it’s time to start planning your outdoor, or air-conditioned, entertainment fun.

Below are some of the noteworthy concerts and acts coming to Merced County in June.

‘You Can’t Take It With You’

WHAT: “You Can’t Take It With You” is a madcap comedy about love, family, fireworks, tax evasion, ballet lessons and one very unfortunate dinner party.

Merced County Fair

WHAT: The local annual tradition continues with carnival rides, livestock exhibitions, live music and food.

Journey USA

WHAT: With an emphasis on crowd participation and high-energy performances, this talent-packed Journey tribute band captures the signature sound of the rock group.

Faith & Devotion: A Tribute to Depeche Mode

WHAT: Faith & Devotion is a highly regarded, Southern California-based Depeche Mode tribute band (formerly known as “For the Masses”).

Shakespeare in the Park

WHAT: Enjoy a live performance of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest,” directed by Erin Day, under the trees in the heart of the park. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, as there is no seating.

Louder & Prouder: Mainzer’s Pride Drag Show

WHAT: The show, hosted by Katalina St. James, is for all ages, but minors must be accompanied by someone 21 or older.
