Roundup: El Capitan's Gudgel posts the low round of the CCC Mid-Season Tournament

Lauren Gudgel posted the low score at the Central California Conference Mid-Season Tournament at Merced Golf & Country Club.

The El Capitan golfer posted a round of 90.

Turlock's Courtney Malmburg finished with a score of 92 for the second lowest individual as the Bulldogs finished first with a team score of 494.

Lauren Miller (95) of El Capitan, Phoebe Arista (96) of Merced and Selena Thao (96) of Buhach Colony rounded out the top five individual scores.

Buhach Colony finished second as a team behind Turlock with a 537. Caitlin Garcia finished with a 100 and Maddie Freitas posted a 101 to help the Thunder.

Merced finished third with a score of 553.

Girls Water Polo

El Capitan 12, Golden Valley 5 in Merced - Evie Mumford scored three times and came away with three steals to lead the Guachos improved to 3-0 in the Central California Conference. Kendall Thomas added two goals, three steals and two assists for El Capitan. Grace Mello led Golden Valley with two goals and five steals.

Merced 7, Pitman 6 in Turlock - The Bears outscored the Pride 4-1 in the fourth quarter to overcome a two-goal deficit to pull out the victory. Sophia Hart and Katarina Capulong each scored two goals for Merced with Capulong adding six steals.

Boys Water Polo

Turlock 14, Atwater 11 in Atwater - The Falcons (2-1 CCC) saw their conference winning streak snapped at 14 games with the loss to the Bulldogs. Connor Norton paced Atwater with six goals. Luke van Warmerdam added four goals for the Falcons.

El Capitan 15, Golden Valley 12 in Merced - Andrew Brown and Garrett Thomas both scored four goals and Aidan Ramirez added three goals as the Gauchos held on for a win over the Cougars.

Girls Volleyball

Le Grand 3, Delhi 0 in Delhi -Elisa Zarate recorded 25 assists and two aces to help the Bulldogs defeat the Hawks 25-16, 26-8, 25 12. Alexa Ulteras led the offense with seven kills.
