Team Mega Force to perform
Team Mega Force, a group of athletes who perform amazing feats of strength, share incredible testimonies and the gospel message, is scheduled to appear at Merced First Assembly of God church, 1350 Yosemite Parkway, in Merced on May 17 at 9 a..m., 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. They have been featured on ESPN, “Ripley’s Believe It or Not,” “America’s Got Talent,” and “Steve Harvey’s Big Show.” The family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Merced High Class of 1980
Merced High School 1980 Class Reunion – 35th Anniversary will be held outdoors under the stars at the Vista Ranch and Cellars, Merced, on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 6 to 11 p.m. A casual event, the price is $12 per person and includes use of the venue, music and all amenities of Vista Ranch and Cellars. Free seminar on drought
A free seminar, “Drought: Homeowners & Gardeners Guide to Water Reduction Techniques,” will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Presented by UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners and Horizon Irrigation of Merced, this seminar will present practical “how-to” demonstrations on irrigation, low water landscaping and building drip irrigation systems. Atwater Women’s Club luncheon
Atwater Women’s Club is having Connie Corvelo’s Famous Chicken Salad fundraising luncheon on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person. Amtrak Train Days exhibit
The San Joaquin Valley Toy Train Operators model train club will partner with Amtrak to celebrate Amtrak Train Days with a model train exhibit at the Merced Amtrak train station, 324 W. 24th St., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Scale model train layouts will be operated throughout the day for the entertainment of passengers and the public at the station. The event is free and open to the public.
