Retired women’s group
The Merced College Retired Women will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at La Hacienda 2. No reservations are required for the no-host luncheon. The group meets monthly the second Thursday of each month at La Hacienda 2. For more information, call (209) 358-5376.
Peripheral neuropathy
The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St. There will be a roundtable discussion and informative handouts. For more information, call (209) 358-2045.
Cancer support
Cancer support group sessions are available from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the last Wednesday of every month at Mercy UC Davis Cancer Center, 3850 G St., Merced. No cost or registration is required. Family, friends and caregivers of cancer patients are welcome.
Stroke support
The local Stroke Support Group is open to anyone who has survived a stroke. Family, friends and caregivers are welcome. Meetings are from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the second Thursday of every month at the Mercy Medical Pavilion, third floor, classroom A, 315 Mercy Ave. No cost or registration is required. Free legal services
Central California Legal Services offers free legal advice and representation to eligible individuals in a variety of areas, including tenant rights; homeless issues; Social Security and SSI disability claims; CalWorks; Medi-Cal; unemployment; and CalFresh. Mental illness
Merced County’s branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness holds biweekly support groups for families affected by serious mental illness. For more information, call (209) 381-6844 and a volunteer will contact you within 48 hours.
