‘The Jungle Book’
Merced Parks and Recreation presents a free showing of “The Jungle Book” at dusk Friday, Sept. 16, at McNamara Park, 1040 Canal St. Several more movies are planned through October. For more information, call the parks office at 209-385-7426.
G Street Junction
The rock, jazz and R&B band G Street Junction will perform a pair of concerts in support of the Merced Walk to End Alzheimer’s at 7-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Bangkok Thai, 235 W. Main St., and again at 7-10 p.m. Sept. 24 at Auntie's Soul Food, 2000 E. Child Ave. (inside the Eagle’s Nest). Organizers are asking for a donation of at least $5 for admission.
Free Shakespeare
Merced Shakes presents its free Summer Shakespeare in the Park, the comedy “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18. The Saturday shows are at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.; Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Merced Open Air Theater in Applegate Park, near the intersection of West 26th and O streets. Los Banos concerts
The Los Banos Arts Council’s concert series begins Saturday, Sept. 17, with the Sun Kings at the Ted Falasco Arts Center, 1105 Fifth St., Los Banos. The series features five concerts from September to March. Season tickets are $85, and individual shows are $20 to $30. ‘Rock of Ages’
