Stephan Gray Memorial Golf Tournament
The 11th annual Stephan Gray Memorial Fund/Merced Police Officers Association Golf Tournament tees off at 8 a.m. Saturday at Rancho Del Rey Golf Club, 5250 Green Sands Ave., Atwater. The cost is $100 per person. Sponsorships are available for $100 and $250. For more information, call 209-769-1310.
Merced concert benefit for Alzheimer’s research
The band G Street Junction will perform a concert Saturday in support of the Merced Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The band will play 7-10 p.m. Saturday at Auntie’s Soul Food, 2000 E. Child Ave. (inside the Eagle’s Nest), Merced. Minimum suggested donation for admission is $5. All proceeds go toward Alzheimer’s research. Come listen to rock, jazz, blues and R&B in support of a great cause.
Merced AARP Events
The Merced AARP chapter 282 invites members and guests to two outstanding events this month. The first is Sunday to Roger Rocka’s dinner theater for brunch and their production of “Camelot.” Call tour chairman Bob Langston at 209-357-8101 for reservations. The second event, the annual indoor/outdoor picnic, is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. The menu will be grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, barbecue beans, green salad, cake and ice cream. Elks Park Pancake Breakfast
Come enjoy pancakes outdoors from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Elks Park, 3600 Wardrobe Ave., Merced. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit and coffee and orange juice, all for $6 for adults, or $3 for kids 12 and under. The Elks Park Children’s Charity and Trust benefits local youth causes. 100 years
Fruitland Christian Preschool will celebrate the dedication of the Anna Mello Learning Center 3 p.m. Oct. 1 at Fruitland Christian Preschool, 2100 Fruitland Ave., Atwater. The event will also mark the 100 years in the community for First Church of God. A benefit concert is also planned at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at the church. Spaghetti dinner
The 16th annual spaghetti dinner presented by Sons of Thunder Christian Motorcycle Club is 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave., Merced. Food is $7 per plate for eat-in or take-out. Tickets available at the door or from members.
Art show
