Merced College Retired Women luncheon

Merced College Retired Women will meet for its monthly no-host luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at La Hacienda 2, 3355 G St. Merced.

Veterans Day Parade

The annual Merced Veterans Day Parade begins with a ceremony at noon Friday in Bob Hart Square at Canal and Main streets. The parade is set to follow at 1 p.m. on Main Street. ‘Man Can Cook’ competition

This Ain’t Your Mama’s Church is sponsoring “Man Can Cook” from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, 1405 W. Main St., Merced. The community is invited to taste dishes entered in the competition. Donations will be accepted at the door. The event includes a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will be donated to “Treasure Our Troops” to help send care packages to deployed troops. Each contestant will bring a homemade dish to be evaluated by a three-judge panel. Contestants can sign up in the church’s lobby or by calling 209-726-6123.

Merced College First Responders and Veterans Day event

Merced College will present its first First Responders and Veterans Day event for the Blue Devils’ football game against Cabrillo College at 1 p.m. Saturday . Show a badge and get in free!

Odd Fellows breakfast

The Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge 65 will host its monthly breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham and cheese omelets, and French toast. Complimentary coffee and orange juice will be served. The cost is $6 for ages 12 and up, $3 for ages 7-12, and free for children 6 and under. The IOOF Hall, a vintage 1881 building on the National Register of Historic Places, is the scene of many community events. Thanksgiving Dinner in Livingston

Livingston United Methodist Church is having its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at noon Nov. 20 at the church, 11695 Olive Ave., Livingston. Everyone is welcome. There is no cost, but a donation basket will be available. For more information, call the church office at 209-394-2264.

Atwater Christmas Parade

Atwater’s annual Christmas Parade is set for 7 p.m. Dec. 2 beginning in downtown Atwater and concluding with a visit from Santa at the Bloss House at Broadway and First Street in Atwater. 14th annual Christmas Craft Fair

More than 40 vendors will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 3 for the 14th annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St., Merced. Enjoy free hot cider while you shop. The craft fair includes a raffle and lunch for sale. Admission is free. Stop by on your way to the Downtown Christmas Parade.
