Merced PFLAG meeting
The Merced chapter of Parents, Families, Friends of Lesbians and Gays meets 7 p.m. Tuesday at the LGBT Community Center, 1744 G St., Suite H. PFLAG Merced promotes the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through support, education and advocacy. Plant sale
Merced College will hold its annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28 at the college’s greenhouses. There will be tomatoes, peppers, vegetables, herbs, perennials, succulents, fruit and shade trees, and much more. There will be signs to lead you to the area off M Street. Call (209) 631-2026.
Christian artist Matt Maher
St. Patrick’s Faith Event Ministry presents five-time Grammy-nominated Christian artist Matt Maher in concert at the Art Kamangar Center at the Merced Theatre on June 18. Tickets are on sale. Volunteer income tax assistance
In partnership with the IRS, United Way of Merced County will prepare tax returns for free for households that make less than $51,000. Assistance will be offered from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturdays beginning Feb. 7 through April 10 at the office on 658 W. Main St. in Merced. This free service will also be provided at the Salvation Army office in Los Banos and the Lifeline Community Center in Winton. Call United Way at (209) 383-4242 for additional information.
McDaniel to hold mobile office hours
District 3 Supervisor Daron McDaniel has scheduled monthly mobile office hours at Atwater City Hall. Members of the public are encouraged to use the time to voice opinions and talk with McDaniel regarding subjects of interest or emerging issues. District 3 Atwater mobile office hours are scheduled to happen from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. every fourth Thursday of the month at Atwater City Hall, 750 Bellevue Road.
