Social dance
The city of Merced will have an East Coast swing dance lesson, followed by a social dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. Cost is $8. There will be door prizes and refreshments. For more information, call (209) 723-0839.
Native Daughters trip
The Native Daughters of the Golden West, Veritas Parlor No. 75, will have its semi-annual Black Oak Casino bus trip Saturday. Net proceeds benefit the local scholarship fund. Only one pickup location for this trip: 8:15 a.m. at the Walmart parking lot on Olive Avenue in Merced. Cost is $25 per person. Free health screenings
Castle Family Health Centers will have its eighth annual Day of Service from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bloss Clinic, 1251 Grove Ave., Atwater, near Ralston Park. There will be free health screenings for adults and children. Adults will be screened for diabetes, blood pressure and vision trouble, and breast exams will be performed. Elks pancake breakfast
Merced Elks will hold its monthly pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Merced Elks Lodge, 1910 M. St. The menu is pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee and orange juice. Donations of $6 for adults and $3 for kids are requested. Blood Mary’s and screwdrivers available. Gospel music concert
Julie Eichelberger presents another evening of gospel music as part of the Julie-N-Friends gospel concert series. The performance will be at 6 p.m. March 29 at the Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave., Merced. Admission is free. Performers include a “quartet of trios”: Solid Ground of Sacramento, The Cornells and The Roberts, both from Bakersfield, and the host group, Bridge of Grace, of Merced. Sunrise Toastmasters

Central California Legal Services offers free legal advice and representation to eligible individuals in many areas, including tenant rights, homeless issues, Social Security and Supplemental Security Income disability claims, CalWorks, Medi-Cal, unemployment and CalFresh cases.
