Sunrise Toastmasters

Sunrise Toastmasters Chapter 4333 has moved its meetings to Paul’s Place Restaurant and Bakery, 2991 G. St., Merced. A weekly meeting will be today from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. For more information, call (209) 384-7128 or (209) 722-3975.

Kiddieland Train race

The second annual “Race to the Kiddieland Train” will be held Saturday at Applegate Park in Merced. There will be a 2-mile walk/run, 5-mile run and 1-mile kid’s fun run. The kid’s fun run starts at 8:30 a.m., with the other events set to start at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Applegate Park. The entry fee is $15 per person and includes a T-shirt. The 2-mile and 5-mile events will follow the Bear Creek bike trail. For more information, call (209) 777-0953.

Gospel concert

Julie Eichelberger presents a free evening of gospel music as part of the Julie-N-Friends gospel concert series. The performance will be 6 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave., Merced. Performers includes a “quartet of trios”: Solid Ground from Sacramento; The Cornells and The Roberts, both of Bakersfield; and host group Bridge of Grace from Merced. Scholarship applications

The Virginia Smith Trust is offering scholarships, administered by the Merced County Office of Education, to graduates of a high school in Merced who are attending or applying to attend a California college. Legal services

Central California Legal Services offers free legal advice and representation to eligible individuals in areas including tenant rights; homeless issues; Social Security and SSI disability claims; and CalWorks, Medi-Cal, unemployment and CalFresh cases. Sober graduation

The Merced and Golden Valley Sober Grad Committee is looking for volunteers to help provide a fun and safe place for 2015 graduating seniors. Graduation for Merced High School and Golden Valley High School will be June 4. Adult volunteers are needed after the graduations to be at the joint Sober Grad festivities at Golden Valley High from 9:45 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Volunteers are needed for two hours, three hours or all night.
