City to host cannabis-related meeting
The city of Merced will host a stakeholders meeting to gather public opinion about cannabis-related businesses in town from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. today in the Sam Pipes Room, 678 W 18th St. City leaders are mulling allowing more types of businesses than just dispensaries.
Party to honor Boys & Girls Club exec
The public is invited to a reception honoring Tony Slaton, head of Merced’s Boys & Girls Club, who is taking a job with the organization in Stanislaus County. Art Hop this weekend
The next Merced Art Hop is 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday on and around Main Street in downtown Merced. It’s free and draws dozens of painters, models, dancers and singers, to name a few artists. For more, call 209-349-8682, or visit mercedarthop.org.
Hazardous Waste Disposal
The Merced County Regional Waste Management Authority hosts a Household Hazardous Waste event at the Highway 59 Landfill on July 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Highway 59 Landfill, 7040 N. Highway 59, Merced. Before bringing items out to the facility, please call Clean Harbors at 916-296-7478 to identify the amount and type of HHW that will be dropped off at the facility. Shakespeare Reading in Merced
Merced Shakes presents its third offering in the Staged Reading Cycle “Politics and Betrayal,” the epic Antony and Cleopatra. The reading will be presented at 7:30 p.m. July 20 at the Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St., Merced. A suggested ticket donation is $ 5. For more information, call 209-723-3265.
Fall Registration Event at Merced College
Students wishing to enroll for fall semester classes at Merced College will have a chance opportunity to complete the registration process from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29 at both Merced and Los Banos campuses.
