Mature Driver Improvement Class
Merced College Continuing Education Program will host a Mature Driver Improvement Class for Older Adults (55 or older) at 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at 760 Bellevue Road, Atwater. To pre-register or for more information call 209-381-6540.
Fall Registration Event at Merced College
Students wishing to enroll for fall semester classes at Merced College will have a chance opportunity to complete the registration process from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29 at both Merced and Los Banos campuses. Stuff The Bus
Stuff The Bus is a school supply and school clothing drive for homeless youth enrolled in Merced Union High School District. They will be accepting donations on Aug. 5 and Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wal-Mart in Merced, 3055 Loughborough Drive. You also can drop off donations at the Merced United Way, Staples, and Gottschalk Music Center from Aug. 1 through Aug. 31. Antique Aircraft Display
Antique aircraft will be on display next to the Hanger BBQ at the Merced Airport from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 12. Experimental Aircraft Association meeting will be held in the Hanger BBQ restaurant. Anyone interested in airplanes and flying is welcome. For more information, call at 209-769-1036.
Merced adds days to public pool schedule
Get more swim time this summer as the City of Merced extends pools days at McNamara Pool, located at 1040 Canal St. The pool will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays through Aug. 13. The Golden Valley High School Pool, 2121 E. Childs Ave., is open from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays until Aug. 13. Admission is $1 for youths under 18 and $2 for adults. Fridays swimming is free for the first 70 youngsters courtesy of the Merced Satellite Rotary.
Stephan Gray Memorial Golf Tournament
The annual Stephan Gray Memorial Fund/Merced Police Officers Association Golf Tournament tees off at 8 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Rancho Del Rey Golf Club, 5250 Green Sands Ave. in Atwater. The cost is $100 per person. For more information, call 209-358-7131.
Italo-American Lodge Lunch
The Italo-American Lodge serves lunch on the first Tuesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. The cost is $8. The menu includes beef or chicken, pasta salad and a roll. For more information, call 209-723-8541.
