Sloth One art show
Los Angeles-based artist Sloth One has taken residence inside Mariposa Art Company at 1637 M St. in downtown Merced. A one-night pop up show featuring the work of Sloth will take place Saturday, with doors opening at 8 p.m. Hard of Heart will be performing live music and entertainment during the event. Courthouse Museum tea
The 20th Annual Tea Party in the historic courtroom at the Merced County Courthouse Museum will be held Saturday from 12:30 to 4 p.m. The historic Superior Courtroom will be transformed into an elegant tearoom, and “Victorian Tea Party” is this year’s theme. There will be four seatings: 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each seating will last for 40 minutes. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 years of age and under. Three raffle prizes – two traditional tea baskets and a child’s tea basket – will also be available. Call the museum office at (209) 723-2401 and reserve seating time early.
Merced Genealogical Society
The Merced County Genealogical Society will meet in the Gracey Room, Merced County Library, 2100 O St. at 1 p.m. April 18. Vauna Kelley, the speaker for this month’s meeting, will make a presentation about researching English ancestors. The meeting is open to all, no membership required.
Le Grand Garden Club tour
“Country Charm at the Farm” is the theme for the 2015 Le Grand Garden Club annual Garden Tour on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s event features five gardens within the extended Le Grand area. Livingston Community Health Fair
Livingston Community Health and the Lions Club of Livingston will hold their annual Community Health Fair on April 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of LCH, 1140 Main St., Livingston. There will be free blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and vision screenings. In anticipation of the opening of an LCH dental clinic at the end of the month, dental screenings will be performed by the health care provider’s new staff dentist. Sonora Master Chorale
The Sonora Master Chorale Spring Concert will be held May 9 at 7 p.m. and May 10 at 3 p.m. at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 13880 Joshua Way, Sonora. It will feature songs from Schubert, Gershwin, Rutter and more. The chorale will be directed by Ron Randall. The accompanist will be Jason Jeffrey.
