Free flu shots

Memorial Hospital in Los Banos is providing free flu shots during two days in October. The free clinics will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday and Oct. 18 in the hospital’s parking lot at 520 W. I St. Attendees will be asked to sign a consent form before the vaccination. For more information, call 209-826-0591.

Reception and Lecture

The American Association of University Women will host reception and lecture from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St., Merced. UC Merced Professor Irenee Beattie and Photographer Roger Wyan will be the speakers.

Odd Fellows breakfast

The Odd Fellows of LaFayette Historical Lodge 65 are hosting their monthly breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Oct. 8. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham and cheese omelets and pancakes. Complimentary coffee and orange juice will be served. The cost is $6 for people ages 12 and up, $3 for children ages 7-12, and free for children 6 and under. The IOOF Hall, vintage 1881 building on the National Historic Register, is the scene of many community events. Gold Rush Art Show

The Sierra Artist’s Gallery in Mariposa is holding its 21st Annual “Gold Rush Art Show” from Oct. 23 to Nov. 5. Cash prizes will be awarded. Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group

The next meeting of the Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 12 the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St., Merced. Yard Sale

Veritas Parlor No. 75 of Merced Native Daughters of the Golden West will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 14 at 726 E. Olive Ave. Merced. Members can drop off items or have them picked up by calling Amber at 209-722-3679. The sale will benefit the Native Daughter Home in San Francisco.
