Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Awards

The Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to its 2017 Installation and Awards Dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Gateway Gardens, 560 W. 18th St., Merced. Reception and Lecture

The American Association of University Women will host reception and lecture from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St., Merced. UC Merced Professor Irenee Beattie and Photographer Roger Wyan will be the speakers.

Fall Plant Sale

The Mariposa Master Gardeners will host a Fall Plant Sale to benefit Mariposa County Community from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday the Fire House Garden (corner of Highway 49 and J132) in Coulterville. For more information, call the Mariposa Master Gardeners at 209-966-7078 or mgmariposa@ucdavis.edu.

Merced MS Support Group

The Merced MS Support Group will be celebrating its 21st anniversary on Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 500 Buena Vista Dr. Meetings are held monthly from 11 am to 1 pm. The meetings are facilitated by a registered nurse with MS and are described as educational and empowering. All individuals with multiple sclerosis are encouraged to attend.

Yard Sale in Le Grand

A community yard sale is set for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Le Grand United Methodist Church, 3801 Washington St., Le Grand. Vendors must bring their own display tables. Set-up time is set for 6 to 8 a.m. For more information, call Kari Hansen at 209-756-2815 or Tonya Moreno at 209 -631-4926.

Blessing of the Animals

All creatures great and small are invited to a Blessing of the Animals at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1455 E. Yosemite Ave., Merced. The public is invited and all animals are welcome to attend free of charge. Animals must be leashed or in crates. There will be refreshments for people and for animals. Each animal will receive an individual blessing by Pastor Dorothy Lindstrom.

Le Grand Youth Group

The Le Grand United Methodist Church begins a monthly Community Youth Group for youth ages 10 to 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18. There will be singing, worship, fun activity and snacks each month. For more information, contact Tonya Moreno at 209-631-4926 or Donna Reiman at 209-777-4939.
