Career and College Night in Atwater
Atwater High School will host a Career & College Night to benefit students, parents, and the community from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Atwater High School 2201 Fruitland Ave, Atwater. For more information, call 209-325-1292. Tours of the new Atwater High gym will be available during the event.
Merced County Republican Women
Merced County Republican Women Federated will meet on Oct. 16 at the Branding Iron Restaurant, 640 W. 16th St., Merced. Those attending are asked to bring an item for a fun white elephant sale that will be held during the meeting. Social time begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Firefighter Pancake Fundraiser
The Merced City Firefighters Association will host its 28th annual pancake-breakfast fundraiser from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Fire Station No. 55, 3520 N. Parsons Ave., Merced. The cost is $7 for ages 6 and up. Everyone under 6 gets in free. Proceeds benefit youth sports in the area. For more information, call 209-385-6244.
Free Flu Shots in Los Banos
Memorial Hospital in Los Banos will be giving free flu shots on Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The free clinic will be in the hospitals parking lot at 520 West I St., Los Banos. Spanish-speaking staff will be available, for more information call 209-826-0591 extension 50365.
Merced Monthly Sunday Dance
This month’s dance will be held Oct. 22 at Merced Senior Community Center 755 W. 15th St. Gloria and Friends will perform. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and dancing runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Cost is $8. For more information, call 209-628-0683.
Trunk or Treat
St. Paul School is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the school parking lot, 2916 McKee Road, Merced. There will be games, prizes and candy.
Fall Festival in Atwater
St. Anthony School Parents Club presents its annual Fall Festival on Saturday at the Saint Anthony Hall, 1801 Winton Way, Atwater from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be food and games including a bounce house, a maze, a cake walk, and games with prizes and candy. This event is open to all who want a safe place to have fun. For more information, call the school office at 209-358-3341.
