LGBTQ+ Focus Group
A Focus Group of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Public Health at 260 E 15th St., Merced. Share your ideas and needs for the LGBTQ+ community with regard to BHRS.
Benefit Dinner at Italo Lodge
The Italian Catholic Federation will host a family-style polenta and chicken dinner to benefit scholarships and various community and religious programs including Merced Rescue Mission, Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Charities of Merced and others, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Italo American Lodge, 18th and U Streets, Merced. College fair
Pacheco High School will hold its college fair event Wednesday. The fair will feature colleges presenting information for prospective students. The fair will be held at the high school from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
Merced Group of the Sierra Club
The Merced Group of the Sierra Club will host wildlife biologist Kent Reeves who will speak on “Restoring Native Grasslands Using Cattle to Mimic Tule Elk and Pronghorn” on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Merced United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Parkway. A professional in rangeland management, a former working cowboy, a packer and guide in the Sierras, a cowboy poet- Kent has lots to share and talk about. For more information, call 209-723-4747.
Legacy Projects Program
Merced Breakfast Lions Club will invest $35,000 in the greater Merced area as a part of Lions Clubs International’s Centennial Community Legacy Projects program. Applications are now open to groups and organizations who wish to apply for all or part of these funds. The deadline to submit an application is Oct. 31. Disabled American Veterans
The Disabled American Veterans will host a “Mobile Service Office” open to all veterans from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at 1390 Broadway Atwater. For more information, call Frank Torres 510-834-2921.
