Annual Halloween Zoo Boo in Merced
The Merced Zoo will host its annual Zoo Boo again this year from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28 at West 25th and R streets, Merced. Entrance fee is $2 and free for children under 5. Dress in your favorite costume or just come join the fun as the zoo becomes a spooky Halloween attraction.
Trunk or Treat
St. Paul School is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the school parking lot, 2916 McKee Road, Merced. There will be games, prizes and candy.
Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
The DEA announces the 14th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. This initiative aims to provide a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for theft, abuse and trafficking of medications. This Saturdayfrom 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Merced County Sheriff’s Office will be providing a safe location to dispose of any unused, unwanted, and potentially dangerous expired prescription drugs. The drop off location will be in the parking lot of the Merced County Sheriff’s Office at 700 W. 22nd. St. in Merced.
Trick or Treat for Unity in Merced
The Merced Police Department will host a “Trick or Treat for Unity” event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the central police station parking lot, 611 W. 22nd St., Merced. Admission is free, but only kids will be given candy. The whole family is welcome and there will be special guests on hand to meet and greet everyone. Bring your own trick-or-treat bag and costume and celebrate with local public safety agencies. Friends of the Merced County Library
The Friends of the Merced County Library invites members and the public to its next meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 2 in the Gracey Room of Merced Library 2100 O St., Merced. Business includes adopting a new Friends-Library operating agreement and discussing a 50th anniversary fund-raising party. For more information, email slflinspach@gmail.com.
Benefit Golf Tournament
The American Legion Post 83 will host the Merced Volunteers Benefit Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Dec. 9 at Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, Atwater. The event benefits The Merced Volunteers Baseball Team. For more information, call Ed Benes at 209-658-2663.
