Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

The DEA announces the 14th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. This initiative aims to provide a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for theft, abuse and trafficking of medications. This Saturdayfrom 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Merced County Sheriff’s Office will be providing a safe location to dispose of any unused, unwanted, and potentially dangerous expired prescription drugs. The drop off location will be in the parking lot of the Merced County Sheriff’s Office at 700 W. 22nd. St. in Merced.

Open House and Art Show

The Susan Regert Gallery will host a fall open house and art show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 6480 N. Highway 59, Merced. For more information, call 209-777-0685.

Harvest Festival & Potluck

The Livingston United Methodist Church will be having its annual Harvest Festival & Potluck at noon on Sunday at the Pioneer Hall, 11695 Olive Ave., Livingston. The entrance fee is only on non-perishable food item. Don’t forget to wear your costumes.

Legacy Projects Program

Merced Breakfast Lions Club will invest $35,000 in the greater Merced area as a part of Lions Clubs International’s Centennial Community Legacy Projects program. Applications are now open to groups and organizations who wish to apply for all or part of these funds. The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday. Veterans Day parade in Livingston

The Livingston-Delhi VFW and Auxiliary will host the annual Veterans Day parade at 11 a.m. Nov. 11. The parade begins at Main and C Streets in Livingston. Veterans wishing to ride in the military vehicle are asked arrive by 10:30 a.m. There is no fee for entry but you must have an entry form to be in the parade, which can be obtained by calling Denis Wells 209-852-9068 or 209-628-9196.

Laura Ellis Concert in Los Banos

The Los Banos Arts Council will host Laura Ellis Jazz trio in concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Ted Falasco Arts Center, 1105 Fifth St., Los Banos. Tickets will be available at the door for $20 or $5 for students. For more information, call 209-826-6132.

$20,000 Scholarship Opportunity

Golden 1 Credit Union is opening the application period for the Golden 1 Credit Union Scholarship Program where qualified applicants will have the opportunity to receive up to $20,000 to attend universities in California. In total, $400,000 will be awarded for the 2018 period. Applications will be accepted now through Jan. 18, 2018. For more, go to https://www.golden1.com/scholarships/default.
