Trick or Treat for Unity in Merced
The Merced Police Department will host a “Trick or Treat for Unity” event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the central police station parking lot, 611 W. 22nd St., Merced. Admission is free, but only kids will be given candy. The whole family is welcome and there will be special guests on hand to meet and greet everyone. Bring your own trick-or-treat bag and costume and celebrate with local public safety agencies. Merced High Alumni Lunch
Merced High classmates from1945 to 1955 are invited to join the '48 Class sponsors at their monthly lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Elks Lodge, 1910 M St., Merced.
Disabled American Veterans
The Disabled American Veterans will host a “Mobile Service Office” open to all veterans from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at 1390 Broadway Atwater. For more information, call Frank Torres 510-834-2921.
Mature Driver Improvement Class
Merced College Continuing Education Program will host a Mature Driver Improvement Class for older adults (55 and older) at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at Castle Vista, 2300 Cascade Drive, Atwater, to pre-register and for more information call 209-381-6540.
Veterans Day Celebration
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9946 will host a Veterans Day Celebration to benefit those who served in the military, their families and the Atwater Community from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 11. For more information call Post 9946 at 209-358-7224.
Coat Drive in Merced
United Way is sponsoring a coat drive to benefit those in need in the community. Donate new or gently used coats for children, ages 1 to 19, to United Way of Merced County at 658 W. Main St., Merced. They can be dropped off starting Oct. 1 through Feb. 15, 2018, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
