Dance Class for Seniors
Merced Academy of Dance hosts "Rhythm and Movement Class for Seniors" every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. during the academic school year at Merced Multicultural Center at 645 W. Main St. The class benefits all who wish to improve mobility, balance, strength, mood and overall quality of life in a friendly community environment. Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser
Habitat for Humanity of Merced County is having a fundraiser at Chipotle at 3110 R St Suite A on Friday from 3 to 10 p.m. Tell the cashier you're supporting the cause to make sure that 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Merced County. Merced Theater Foundation

New Beginnings Fundraiser
New Beginnings for Merced County Animals is having a fundraiser at Merced’s Chipotle Restaurant Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. New Beginnings will receive a portion of all sales that day. Patrons may support New Beginnings by telling a cashier of your support before payment is made. All proceeds will benefit animals of Merced County.
Book Donation Drive
From now until Nov. 11, Postal Connections in Atwater and Merced are partnering with Operation Paperback for a month-long, community-wide book donation drive to gather gently used paperback books to send to active troops and veterans in need. Postal Connections in both Merced and Atwater will be accepting donations from local residents, businesses and community members to send to troops serving overseas and on U.S. soil. Books must be gently used paperbacks that are in good condition.
Merced College Jazz Ensemble
The Merced College Jazz Ensemble plays at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the college theater, 3600 M St. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. For more, call 209-386-6644.
