Fifth annual Merced Field of Honor

The Field of Honor will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday through Nov. 12 at the Merced College field at Yosemite and M Street. The public is invited to honor active-duty and military veterans and first responders by viewing, flying previously flown flags and purchasing new flags to honor loved ones. Opening ceremonies will take place in the Merced College theater at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 and a closing ceremony on the field at 4 p.m. Nov. 11 A flag retirement ceremony for worn flags will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8. Craft Bazaar in Atwater

The First Church of God will host a Craft Bazaar at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at First Church of God 2100 Fruitland Ave., Atwater.

Christmas Trees Display Registration

Organizations, schools, classrooms and businesses are invited to help decorate the Courthouse Museum with Christmas tree displays in time of the holidays. Registration forms for Christmas tree are available now at the museum. This year's Christmas Open House will be on Dec. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. For specifics and a registration form, stop by the museum Wednesday through Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. or call the museum office at 209-723-2401. Registration forms will be due back by Nov. 7.

Merced Garden Club

Merced Garden Club, Inc. will be having a meeting at 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Fish & Game Building at Lake Yosemite. There will be a workshop program and members will be assembling wreaths out of greens or corks. Guests are welcome. For more information, call 209-761-5710.

Abuse Later in Life

Healthy House will host a training opportunity for victim service personnel to address abuse in later life from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Business Resource Center, 630 W. 19th St., Merced. For more information, call 209 724-0102 or email Nai@healthyhousemerced.org.

Free YARTS days

Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) will provide free transit service to Yosemite National Park on all free National Park Service gate days for the next three years, officials said. The first free service days are Nov. 11 and 12. Free service events will be posted on the YARTS Facebook page at www.facebook.com/rideyarts and at www.yarts.com.
