Merced Genealogical Society

The Merced County Genealogical Society will meet in the Gracey Room, Merced County Library, 2100 O St., at 1 p.m. Saturday. Vauna Kelley, the speaker for this month’s meeting, will make a presentation about researching English ancestors. The meeting is open to all; no membership is required.

Club Mercedes to hold annual enchilada sale

Club Mercedes will have its annual enchilada sale Saturday at Club Mercedes Hall, 569 W. Ninth St. in Merced. Enchiladas will be made with ground beef and corn or flour tortillas and sold by the dozen for $15. Rice and beans will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for $5 per container. The sale is takeout only and advance orders are requested. Orders can be picked up from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. For tickets, call (209) 383-9906. The proceeds will benefit the club’s three Merced Youth Baseball teams and its CSU Stanislaus Endowment Fund.

Golf tourney for Castle

Castle Air Museum plans its fourth annual golf tournament on Saturday at Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, 5250 Green Sands Ave. in Atwater. Registration is that morning at 11:30 a.m. for the event that starts at 1 p.m. Lunch is included in the tournament ticket price of $80. The museum is also looking for sponsors for the tourney. CASA annual fundraiser

Court Appointed Special Advocates’ annual fundraiser, “The CASA Cup: A Night at the Races,” will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Merced County Fairgrounds in Merced. This will be an evening with fabulous food and “authentic” horse racing. Tickets are $75 and table sponsorships are available. Atwater High Spring Showcase

Atwater High will showcase its art, drama, film, photography, graphic arts, floral design, metal garden art, hip-hop club, band and choir. The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. today in the social studies quad. Refreshments and activities will be provided. Donations will be accepted to support the arts, but the event and activities are free to the public.

May Day-Cinco De Mayo celebration

Yosemite Church Celebrate Recovery and Latino Ministry will host its annual May Day-Cinco de Mayo Celebration, featuring a day of fun, food, live bands, and raffle prizes. The event will take place May 3 from 10:30 a.m to 3 p.m. at 2230 E. Yosemite Ave. in Merced. For more information, call Pa Moua at (209) 383-5038, ext. 27.
