Career center opens
Catholic Charities of Merced Board of Directors with Merced College and other partners will celebrate the opening of the Career and Education Center, which will provide free courses to Catholic Charities clients. The grand opening is 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Catholic Charities of Merced, 336 W. Main Street. For more, call 559-237-0851 ext. 1105.
AARP Meeting
The January meeting of the Merced Chapter of AARP will be held at 10 a.m. Jan 24 at the Merced Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St., Merced. The speaker will be from Merced County HSA Adult and Aging Services. Snacks will be provided. For more information, call 209-357-8206.
Sunday Social Dance
The Merced Sunday dance group will host the Merced Sunday Social Dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan 28 at Located at 755 W. 15th St., Merced. The cost is $8 per person, no partner needed. Doors open at 1 p.m. For more information call 209-628-0683.
Friends of the Fair 2018 Kick-Off Dinner
The Friends of the Fair will hold an annual pre-party and membership dinner to kick off the 2018 fair season with a sit-down dinner, hosted bar and entertainment. Funds raised will go to support the Merced County Fairgrounds. Attendees must be 21 years old. The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Merced County Fairgrounds Yosemite Hall. Tickets are $40 per person and are available at the Merced County Fairgrounds Office. For more information, call 209-722-1507.
Crab feed
North Merced Rotary 33nd Annual Crab Dinner is Feb. 24. Doors open at 6 p.m. and you must purchase tickets prior to the dinner. No tickets will be available at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any North Merced Rotarian or call Joe Stefani at 209-564-8641 to purchase tickets at 3313 G St.
Cumbia Dance Lesson
Cumbia dance lesson will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Mondays in February at the Merced Senior Community Center 755 W. 15th St., Merced. No partner needed. For more information, call 209-628-0683.
