Merced Art Exhibit, Reception
Merced College Art Gallery will present an exhibition of mixed media sculpture by artists Sandra Beard and Janice Nakashima at the Theater Building of the Merced College Art Galley on M Street in Merced. A reception for the artists runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The exhibition and reception are free to the public. This exhibition continues until Feb. 8.
AARP Meeting
The January meeting of the Merced Chapter of AARP will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Merced Senior Center, 755 W. 15th St., Merced. The speaker will be from Merced County HSA Adult and Aging Services. Snacks will be provided. For more information, call 209-357-8206.
ReStore Volunteers Needed
Volunteer Orientation is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at the new ReStore, 1230 Broadway Ave., Atwater. The organization is seeking volunteers for the new ReStore and to repair items, help pick up items, and assist customers. For more information or to register, call 209-726-0850.
Sunday Social Dance
The Merced Sunday dance group will host the Merced Sunday Social Dance from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Located at 755 W. 15th St., Merced. The cost is $8 per person, no partner needed. Doors open at 1 p.m. For more information call 209-628-0683.
Buhach Music Crab Fundraiser
The Buhach Colony High School Music Boosters of Atwater hosts its 13th annual crab feed from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Pavilion at the Merced County Fairgrounds, 900 Martin Luther King Jr. Way The event features the Buhach Colony Jazz Ensemble, a raffle, and a dessert auction. Mariposa Master Gardeners

Merced County Historical Society
The Merced County Historical Society holds its annual membership meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Merced County Board of Supervisors Chambers. Society officers and board members will be installed and awards and grants will be presented. The keynote speaker will be Ron Genini of Fresno, author of California on the Edge of American History.
