Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group

Merced College Retired Women

Free seminar on drought

A free seminar on “Planning for Drought: Homeowners & Gardeners Guide to Water Reduction Techniques,” will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Merced Gardens & Nursery, 1007 Tahoe St., Merced. Presented by UC Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners and Horizon Irrigation of Merced, this seminar will provide practical “how-to” demonstrations on irrigation, low-water landscaping and building drip irrigation systems. Atwater Women’s Club luncheon

The Atwater Women’s Club is having its Connie Corvelo’s Famous Chicken Salad fund-raising luncheon Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per person. It will be held at the Atwater Women’s Club House, 1201 Grove Ave., Atwater. There will be dine-in, take-out and delivery for three or more lunches. Genealogical Society meeting

The Merced County Genealogical Society will meet in the Gracey Room of the Merced County Library, 2100 O St., at 1 p.m. May 16. The guest speaker will be Kathryn Marshall, director of the Lodi California Family History Center. She will share how to research information online using computer programs and provide other tips for researching family histories. The meeting is open to all; no membership is required.

Talk Show Toastmasters

Talk Show Toastmasters Chapter 7302 meets Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at 521 W. Main St., Merced. There is additional parking in the alley between Main and 18th streets. For more information, call (209) 384-7128 or (209) 628-1928.
