Merced Garden Club to discuss soil
The Merced Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Merced County Fish and Game Building at Lake Yosemite Park. The topic of the lecture at this meeting is sustainable soil, or composting. The meeting is open to the public.
Veterans plan Memorial Day event
The Livingston/Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8327 and the Ladies Auxiliary will host their annual Memorial Day ceremony at Livingston Memorial Park at Park and Main streets. The ceremony will take place on the traditional Memorial Day, May 30, at 5 p.m. Immediately following the ceremony, refreshments will be served at the Veterans Memorial Building at Seventh and Peach streets. Uniformed Services meeting scheduled
The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Castle Air Museum banquet room. Speaker will be Rob Brown, who will discuss home security systems. For additional information, call Larry Frice at (209) 358-2045.
VFW building materials sale
The Livingston-Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8327 will hold a building materials sale at Veterans Memorial Hall, 9799 Stephens St., Delhi. All new merchandise is priced 25 cents on the dollar. Materials for sale include electrical, plumbing, lawn and garden, flooring, windows, bathtubs, doors and many other items. The sales takes place Thursdaythrough Saturday . Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. All sales are final, with no warranties. Contractors welcome. Cash or checks only, no credit cards. Atwater to host car show
There will be a car show at Big Creek Lumber, 2050 Industrial Road, in Atwater on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy classic cars, raffle prizes and a free ice cream. Those attending the show can vote for the “fan favorite” car. Lunch will be available for purchase from the Bella Luna food truck. Entry to the show is free. All proceeds from the event benefit the Atwater Police Activities League and the American Legion Post No. 83.
New Hope Church yard sale
New Hope Church Women’s Ministry will be having a yard and tri-tip sandwich sale to fund Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets that are provided to families in need. The yard sale will be held 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Tri-tip sandwiches will be sold from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost of the sandwich is $6, which includes chips and a drink.
