Pasta dinner scholarship benefit
The Merced County Office of Education Regional Occupational Program will host a drive-thru pasta dinner on Friday at the Boys & Girls Club, 615 W. 15th St., to support the Evelyn Eagleton Career Technical Education Scholarship fund. The meal, sponsored by Chefanelli’s Catering, is $7 and includes penne pasta with meat sauce, salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing and a dinner roll. Tickets can be purchased from the Office of Education by calling Janice Rogge at (209) 381-6789.
Le Grand Community Day
The 87th Le Grand Community Day will be Saturday in Le Grand. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a parade, followed by the Flower and Art Show, children’s games and deep pit barbecue, all on Jefferson Street in Le Grand. El Nido Patriotic Program
El Nido Elementary School welcomes the public to the school at 161 El Nido Road to enjoy an evening celebrating the U.S military, veterans and their families on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The El Nido Patriotic Program is open to the public. Mental health meeting, hearing
The Merced County Mental Health Department is holding a combined Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug board meeting at the Mental Health Department, 1137 B St., Merced, on May 27 from 4-5:30 p.m. Immediately following that meeting, there will be a public hearing on the Mental Health Services Act Program Update for fiscal years 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17. Both are open to the public.
Merced High 1985 reunion
Merced High Class of 1985 is having its 30-year class reunion on July 18 at Gateway Gardens in Merced. Cost is $60 per person. Gospel Concert series continues
Julie Eichelberger presents the next installment of her Julie-N-Friends gospel concert series on May 31 at 6 p.m. at Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave. in Merced. The talent lineup for this program includes the host group, Bridge ff Grace of Merced, Reliance of Fresno, the California Melody Boys of Tulare, and special guests Brandon & Chrysta Beene of Dallas, Texas. Free document shredding event
Travis Credit Union in partnership with Casey Moving Systems invites Merced residents and small businesses to a free document shredding on May 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Travis Credit Union’s Atwater branch, 981 Bellevue Road. Each person or small business can bring up to five boxes or bags of documents to be shredded. Information and resources on identity theft prevention will also be available.
