Bus trip to San Francisco

Merced College Community Services is taking a bus to the North Beach Festival, one of the country’s original outdoor festivals that also reflects Italian culture and history, in San Francisco, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 13. The trip is $55 per person. The meeting place is the Merced College Business Resource Center, 630 W. 19th St. To register, call (209) 384-6224.

Meeting on Merced districts

The Independent Districting Advisory Committee, which will oversee the creation of six Merced City Council voting districts, is asking for residents to attend its meetings and provide input on its plans. Three first-round community meetings will be held in various locations in the city to ask for public input. The next meeting is 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 30 at Rivera Middle School, 945 Buena Vista Drive.

City of Livingston softball

The Livingston Recreation Department is accepting rosters for the Adult Coed Spring Softball League. Roster deadline is 5 p.m. May 29. Roster packets are available at City Hall, 1416 C St. Six-team limit per division. The cost is $452.50 per team and an $18 Amateur Softball Association registration fee. Tea Party monthly meeting

The Merced-Atwater Tea Party regular monthly meeting will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Atwater Memorial Building, Fifth Street and Broadway Avenue, Atwater. The speaker will be Sinhue Noriega, author of “If It’s Broken Don’t Fix It.” His presentation will focus on Common Core. There will be a question-and-answer period. This event is open to the public.

AARP Merced to award scholarships

The AARP Merced Chapter No. 282 monthly meeting will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. May 27 at the Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. Scholarships will be awarded to the chapter’s 2015 Merced College recipients. After the meeting there will be a lunch, costing $3 per person. The meeting is open to the public.

Gospel Concert series continues

Julie Eichelberger presents the next installment of her Julie-N-Friends gospel concert series at 6 p.m. May 31 at Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave. in Merced. The talent lineup includes the host group, Bridge of Grace of Merced, Reliance of Fresno, the California Melody Boys of Tulare and special guests Brandon and Chrysta Beene of Dallas. Veterans plan Memorial Day event

The Livingston/Delhi Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 8327 and the Ladies Auxiliary will hosting their annual Memorial Day ceremony at Livingston Memorial Park at Park and Main streets. The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. on the traditional Memorial Day, May 30. Immediately following the ceremony, refreshments will be served at the Veterans Memorial Building at Seventh Street and Peach Avenue. For more information, call (209) 628-9196.
