Merced College Retired Women
The Merced College Retired Women will meet for their monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at LaHacienda 2, 3355 G Street, Merced. Join us for the no-host luncheon and visit with retired ladies of the college. No RSVP necessary.

Merced High classmates from 1945 to 1955 are invited to join the '48 Class sponsors at their monthly lunch at 11:30 a.m. July 17 at the Elks Lodge 1910 M St. in Merced.
Household Hazardous Waste collection
The Merced County Regional Waste Management Authority hosts a Household Hazardous Waste collection event from 8 a.m. to noon July 21 at the Highway 59 Landfill HHW Facility, 7040 N. Highway 59, Merced. Before bringing items out to the facility, call 916-296-7478 to identify the amount and type of HHW that will be dropped off. There is no cost for residents within Merced County, but quantity limitations apply. Fees apply for CESQGs. Annual Tea and Bazaar Xmas Style
Veritas Parlor No. 75 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West of Merced will hold their annual Tea & Bazaar with a Christmas-in-July theme from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 21 at the Valley Bible Church community room at 3312 G St., Merced. Catfish Dinner
The La Grange Odd Fellows host the 11th Annual Catfish Dinner to benefit Lafayette Lodge No. 65 from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday July 28 the IOOF Hall, 30018 Yosemite Blvd., La Grange for $15 per plate or for take out, with special child prices. National Night Out in Merced
The Merced Police Department hosts the 35th annual National Night Out from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 7 in neighborhoods throughout the city. The nationwide event features law enforcement agencies spending time outdoors in neighborhoods for a variety of events including block parties, parades, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anti-crime rallies. The main event in Merced will be held at that time at Applegate Park and will include free food, Kiddieland rides, music, raffle prizes and public safety displays.
