Pasta dinner
The Merced County Office of Education Regional Occupational Program will host a drive-thru pasta dinner Friday at the Boys and Girls Club, 615 W. 15th St. to support the Evelyn Eagleton Career Technical Education Scholarship fund. The meal, sponsored by Chefanelli’s Catering, is $7 and includes penne pasta with meat sauce, salad with balsamic vinaigrette dressing and a dinner roll. Community Day
The 87th Le Grand Community Day will be Saturday in Le Grand. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a parade, followed by the Flower and Art Show, children’s games and deep pit barbecue, all on Jefferson Street. Funding workshop
Building Healthy Communities will present a Local Control Funding Formula community workshop on the state’s new school funding system from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Boys and Girls Club of Merced County, 615 W. 15th St. It is free and open to the public.
Teacher appreciation
The Merced County Farm Bureau will host its fourth annual Teacher Appreciation Wine and Cheese Night from 4 to 7 p.m. May 29 at the Merced Fruit Barn, 4526 E. Highway 140. Merced County K-12 teachers are encouraged to stop by. Trail ride
The Merced Horsemen’s trail ride will be at 10 a.m. May 30 at Pacheco State Park off Highway 140, 20 miles west of Los Banos. There will be a $5 insurance fee and a $10 parking fee. For more information, call Bob Hefner at (209) 756-0620.
Senior dance
The May Social Dance will begin at 1 p.m. May 31 at the Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St., Merced. Admission is $8 per person and includes a tango lesson, which will be taught at 1:15 p.m. The open dance floor is planned from 2 to 5 p.m., with live music by Just Friends. Women’s luncheon
Women who have worked at the Farmers Insurance Group regional office are invited to lunch at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at DiCicco’s Italian restaurant, 3360 Highway 59, Merced. The lunch is $15. For more information or to make a reservation, call (209) 723-4317.
