Merced Harmony Valley Chorus

Golf tourney

Merced's chapter of the Mexican American Golf Association will be hosting its annual Golf Tournament at Rancho Del Rey on Aug. 19. The cost is $70. Registration will be at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Proceeds will help Merced County high school golf teams. An optional closest to the pin, and most accurate drive will be available for $5.

Merced Shakespearefest

Merced Shakespearefest will host its first gala to benefit local Shakespeare programs featuring Eric Stephen Bocks’ music and scenes from the Bard at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Vista Ranch on 7326 Hwy 140. Old Time Western BBQ

Merced County Historical Society will host its 28th annual old-time western barbecue and auction in memory of Bill Kirby at Lake Yosemite on Sept. 11. Both live and silent auctions will feature fabulous dinners, vacation getaways, antique items, gourmet food, and artwork. Tickets cost $50 and are now on sale in the Courthouse Museum Gift Shop.
