Spring softball

The Livingston Recreation Department is accepting rosters for the Adult Coed Spring Softball League. Roster deadline is Friday at 5p.m.. Roster packets are available at City Hall, 1416 C St., Livingston. Six-team limit per division. The cost is $452.50 per team and an $18 Amateur Softball Association registration fee. Sober graduation

The Merced and Golden Valley Sober Grad Committee is looking for volunteers to help provide a fun and safe place for 2015 graduating seniors. Graduation for Merced High School and Golden Valley High School will be June 4. Adult volunteers are needed after the graduations to be at the joint Sober Grad festivities at Golden Valley High from 9:45 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Volunteers are needed for two hours, three hours or all night. College for Kids

Merced College’s College for Kids will offer “Eggstronauts,” a class on space and rocket design, beginning June 15. The three-week class is meant to build teamwork while students deal with budgets and learn the rocket design necessary for safely transporting a raw egg. Teacher training

The UC Merced Writing Project’s Teacher Leadership Institute, an intensive learning experience on effective teaching practices, will run from June 15 to July 9. Those in the class meet on the UC campus from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The summer fellowship includes a $500 stipend. All teachers are invited to apply, but space is limited. Class of ’80 reunion

Merced High School 1980 Class Reunion – 35th Anniversary will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Sept. 19 outdoors under the stars at the Vista Ranch and Cellars. A casual event, the price is $12 per person and includes use of the venue, music and all amenities of Vista Ranch and Cellars. There will be a no-host bar and no-host dinner. Central California Legal Services offers free legal advice and representation to eligible individuals in a variety of areas, including tenant rights; homeless issues; Social Security and SSI disability claims; CalWorks; Medi-Cal; unemployment; and CalFresh.
