Free co-ed baseball leagues
Registration is underway for free co-ed baseball leagues for children in Merced County, ages 5 to 18. Practices began Monday, but children may sign up through June 30 at jrgiants.org. Children ages 14 to 18 play at Atwater High School and Winton Park. Participants under 14 play at Franklin Elementary School or Joe Stefani Elementary School. Coaches and volunteers are needed. NAUS meeting at Castle Air Museum
The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Castle Air Museum banquet room. Genealogy lecture
Barbara Washburn is the speaker this month at the Merced County Genealogical Society meeting. Washburn is a family history specialist with more than 20 years of experience. Her topic is “Finding Lost Cousins and Living Relatives.” The meeting is at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Gracey Room, Merced County Library, 2100 O St. The meeting is open to the public.
Hamburger Night
The Livingston-Delhi VFW will host Hamburger Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Livingston Veterans Memorial Building, 1605 Seventh St., in Livingston. The event is open to the public. The menu includes hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and chili. Prices range from $2.50 to $5 per meal. All proceeds go to support community programs. Dancing For Birth Class
Merced College Community Services will be offering the class “Dancing for Birth and Post-Partum” beginning July 20 and ending Aug. 10. The class runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays. The cost is $25 per participant. For more information, call (209) 384-6224 or email communitysvc@mccd.edu.
Giants vs. A’s trip
Merced College Community Services is offering a bus trip to see the San Francisco Giants play the Oakland A’s at AT&T Park. The trip is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 25. Volunteer drivers
Disabled American Veterans is looking for men and women as volunteer drivers. Volunteering ensures that veterans living far from Veterans Affairs hospitals can make their appointments and not go without the treatment they need. DAV provides a van and fuel.
