Free co-ed baseball leagues
Registration is underway for free co-ed baseball leagues for children in Merced County, ages 5 to 18. Practices began Monday, but children may sign up through June 30 at jrgiants.org. Youth 14 to 18 play at Atwater High School and Winton Park. Participants under 14 play at Franklin or Joe Stefani elementary schools. Coaches and volunteers are needed. Le Grand Farmers Market
The Le Grand Certified Farmers Market will run Tuesday nights through Aug. 4 near the Pizza Factory in Le Grand, 13208 Le Grand Road. Vendors operate from 5 to 7 p.m. offering fresh fruit, vegetables, kettle corn, soaps and more. Live entertainment begins at 6 p.m., starting with Cottonwood Creek on opening night, which is next week. Market visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for the show.
Hamburger Night
The Livingston-Delhi VFW will host Hamburger Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Livingston Veterans Memorial Building, 1605 Seventh St., in Livingston. The event is open to the public. The menu includes hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and chili. Prices range from $2.50 to $5 per meal. All proceeds go to support community programs. Dancing For Birth Class
Merced College Community Services will be offering the class “Dancing for Birth and Post-Partum” beginning July 20 and ending Aug. 10. The class runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays. The cost is $25 per participant. For more information, call (209) 384-6224 or email communitysvc@mccd.edu.
Giants vs. A’s trip
Merced College Community Services is offering a bus trip to see the San Francisco Giants play the Oakland A’s at AT&T Park. The trip is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 25. Volunteer drivers
Disabled American Veterans is looking for men and women to be volunteer drivers for veterans. Volunteering ensures that veterans living far from Veterans Affairs hospitals can make their appointments and not go without the treatment they need. DAV provides a van and fuel.
