VFW Breakfast Fundraiser
The Livingston-Delhi VFW will host a fundraiser in Turlock from 8-11 a.m. Sunday at the Turlock Hometown Buffet. Tickets are available for $10 each from the VFW and auxiliary members and must be purchased prior to the event. Proceeds will go to maintain the memorial in Livingston Memorial Park and to the group’s Community Program Fund.
Local food talk
The California Institute for Rural Studies, along with local Merced partners, plans a “Listening Session and Report Back” for Merced County Growers from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Merced County Farm Bureau’s office, 646 S. State Route 59. The meeting is meant to discuss local economic development, options for expanding market opportunities, a plan of action and to network with others. The cost is $10. Merced County CASA seeking shoe donations
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Merced County has launched a fundraiser seeking donations of old shoes, slippers, flip-flops, cleats and roller skates. The shoes support the program as well as individuals in developing nations such as Ghana. Shoes can be dropped off at the CASA office, 2824 Park Ave., Suite A. Livingston car show and talent registrations
The Livingston 4th of July Committee is accepting car show and talent registrations. The festival will be held July 3-5 at Max Foster Sports Complex, 2600 Walnut Ave., Livingston. The event will provide a fairlike atmosphere with a giant carnival, a car show, live bands, talent show, food and craft vendors, and the “biggest Fireworks Spectacular in the Valley.” For more information, go to www.livingston4thofjuly.com.
Snelling Homecoming Car Show registration
Registration is underway for the seventh annual Snelling Homecoming Car Show. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12 at Henderson Park in Snelling. Merced College badminton classes

Volunteer drivers
Disabled American Veterans is looking for men and women to be volunteer drivers for veterans. Volunteering ensures that veterans living far from Veterans Affairs hospitals can make their appointments and not go without the treatment they need. DAV provides a van and fuel.
