Back to School Night in Merced

Merced High School will host its Back to School Night at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The principal’s welcome is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. and classroom visitation will begin promptly at 5:45 p.m. Counselors will be available in the main office throughout the evening to answer questions. Ribbon cutting for new sushi restaurant in Los Banos

The Los Banos Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Sugoi Rolls & Barbecue, a sushi and Korean-style restaurant in Los Banos at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the restaurant, 1245 E. Pacheco Blvd. in Los Banos.

Free Worknet Business Workshop in Los Banos

Employers and small-business owners are invited to attend an interactive workshop Friday. Lisa Jordan, business owner and recognized expert in the field of disability and workforce development, will show you how to expand your customer base and increase profitability. Last Hope Cat Kingdom will host a volunteer orientation and training session at 10 a.m. Saturday at 6660 Bailey Road in Atwater. Hot August Nights Bunco in Merced

The Wesley Foundation will host its Hot August Nights Bunco at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Wesley Hall United Methodist Church, 899 Yosemite Parkway in Merced. The event supports the foundation, a Christian fellowship for college students. Admission is $10 and includes fun and snacks. Farmers Insurance Group women’s lunch

Storytime at Barnes & Noble Merced

Merced County Radio Control Club Event
