Family hamburger night in Livingston

The VFW Hamburger Night in Livingston will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Livingston Veterans Memorial Building, 1605 Seventh St. in Livingston. The public is invited, and you do not have to be a member to attend. You will be able to have hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and chili. Aikido classes at Merced College

Evening with artist at Merced College

Merced College Community Services will be offering “An Evening with Degas” from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Sept. 2-16. During this class, students will explore the life and work of Degas and will re-create one of his master works using pastels. The cost is $45 per participant plus $15 materials fee. Storytime at Barnes & Noble Merced

Barnes & Noble will host a Storytime for Kids event at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 at its Merced location, 1720 W. Olive Ave. Children can hear the story “The Full Moon at the Napping House,” by Audrey and Don Wood. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 209-386-0571.

Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group meeting

The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group’s next meeting is 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St. in Merced. If your toes, fingers, feet or hands tingle or feel numb, you might have peripheral neuropathy. You are not alone. Round table discussion and informative handouts will be available. Martinez Quartet concert in Merced

Spend a Sunday afternoon listening to the Martinez Quartet play music from the Big Band era. This toe-tapping afternoon will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Merced Multicultural Arts Center, 645 W. Main St. in Merced. Advance tickets are $12 or $15 at the door.
