Zoo Boo in Merced
The Applegate Park Zoo plans its annual Zoo Boo from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today in front of and inside the zoo, 1045 W. 25th St. The event offers trick-or-treating and carnival games for all ages, and organizers recommend bringing a bag to collect the bounty of treats. Trunk N’ Treat
This Ain’t Your Mama’s Church is scheduled to hold its 9th Annual Trunk N’ Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. The church is located at 1405 W. Howl-O-Ween Run
The Livingston Wolves’ Howl-O-Ween Run, to benefit the high school’s cross-country and wrestling programs, will feature a series of events with a Halloween theme.
Race-day registration and packet pickup are from 7 to 8:15 a.m. Sunday. A free 100-meter Kids Run for 6 and under begins at 8:40 a.m. The 5K and 10K races kick off at 9. It’s $30 to enter the 5K or 10K races. The activities will be at Livingston High School, 1617 Main St. Parking is available at Peach and Main streets. Pre-registration will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Geno’s Pizza, 307 N. Main, Livingston. For more information, call (209) 404-2406. Costumes for runners are welcome and encouraged.
Scholarship clay shoot
The Taylor Morrow Memorial Scholarship Fund Clay Shoot is scheduled for 9 a.m. today at 3633 Roduner Rd. in Merced. Lunch and raffle at noon. Special drawing for a Remington 700 and custom duck call. Cash shooting games at 2 p.m. Cost is $50 for shoot and lunch. Special drawing tickets for rifle and duck call are $10 each or thre for $25. Tickets can be obtained at N&S Tractor on Highway 59 or call Holly at (209) 489-7881 or Terry at (209) 723-7529. All contributions and funds raised go to scholarships for ag mechanics students going to Merced College.
Pumpkin party for kids
Merced’s annual Tiny Tots Pumpkin Party is a time for children ages 3 to 6 to decorate a pumpkin and join in other safe Halloween fun at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in the Sam Pipes Room of City Hall, 678 W. 18th St. Cost is $5 a child. Space is limited so pre-registration is required at the Merced Parks and Recreation Department in the Civic Center. Call (209) 385-6298 for more information.
