Classes of ’60s reunion

A big reunion for Atwater High students who graduated from Classes of 1960-69 is set for 6 p.m. Friday at Atwater APC Hall, 1420 Third St. in Atwater. The Class of 1965 is hosting the event. Storytime at Barnes & Noble Merced

Cancer treatment workshop in Merced

Bloss Home barbecue celebration

Bloss Home in Atwater is celebrating its 101st year and the Atwater Historical Society is putting on a “down-home” barbecue of ribs, chicken and all the fixin’s catered by Uncle Bucks Blazin B-B-Q on Sept. 19. Entertainment provided by the Home Stilled String Band and the Atwater & Buhach Colony High School Drama Club. The no-host bar opens at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The event will be held at 1020 Cedar Ave. in Atwater. Stephan Gray Memorial Golf Tournament

The 10th annual Stephan Gray Memorial Fund/Merced Police Officers Association Golf Tournament tees off at 8 a.m. Sept. 26 at the Rancho Del Rey Golf Club, 5250 Green Sands Ave. in Atwater. Youth behavior issues class

NAMI Basics is a six-week class for parents and caregivers of children whose behavior problems have become alarming. Basics is for families looking for help, education and support coping with a child’s problems. Basics begins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at 480 E. 13th St. in Merced. Livingston Sweet Potato Festival

Livingston will host its annual Sweet Potato Festival from Oct. 2 through Oct. 4 at the Max Foster Sports Complex, 2600 Walnut Ave. in Livingston. The Recreation Department is looking for vendors and volunteers to help make this year’s event. Discount carnival tickets are on sale at City Hall. Merced Elks golf tournament

The Merced Elks Lodge will hold a charity golf tournament on Oct. 17 at Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, 5250 Green Sands Ave. in Atwater. Check-in time is at 8 a.m. and a shotgun start is at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available at the end of the tournament. There will be raffle prizes, team prizes and closest-to-the-hole prizes.
