Square dance lessons
The Boots and Slippers Square Dance Club is presenting a new round of square dance lessons. The first meeting will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stratford Evans Hall, 490 B St. The first three lessons are free. Atwater Community Cat Network film
The Atwater Community Cat Network, a trap-neuter-return program for feral cats in Atwater, will host a screening of the award-winning film “Redemption” at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall, 1388 Broadway Ave., Atwater. The film, by no-kill coalition founder Nathan Winograd, is about the no-kill movement. A $5 donation is appreciated. For more information, call 209-683-3623.
Women’s Bible study
Coffee Break , an interdenominational women’s Bible Study is kicking off their new season on Tuesday,. There are two studies to choose from: the Gospel of Mark, and the Beth Moore study “The Beloved Disciple.” Coffee Break meets Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon at Yosemite Church, 2230 E. POW/MIA ceremony at Castle
Castle Air Museum and the Veterans of Foreign Wars 13th District will host a National POW/MIA Day ceremony at 1 p.m. Fridayat the museum, 5050 Santa Fe Drive, Atwater. Breakfast at Applegate Park Zoo
Visitors to Applegate Park Zoo can enjoy a complete pancake, scrambled eggs and sausage breakfast in the Rossotti Ed-Zoo-Cation Center before seeing the animals on exhibit in the zoo from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Barnes & Noble Storytime

Stephan Gray memorial golf tournament
The 10th annual Stephan Gray Memorial Fund/Merced Police Officers Association Golf Tournament tees off at 8 a.m. Sept. 26 at Rancho Del Rey Golf Club, 5250 Green Sands Ave., Atwater. The cost is $100 per person. Sponsorships are available for $100 and $250. For more information, call 209-756-2422.
Livingston Sweet Potato Festival
The city of Livingston will hosts its annual Sweet Potato Festival on Oct. 2-4 at the Max Foster Sports Complex, 2600 Walnut Ave. The Recreation Department is looking for vendors and volunteers for the event.
