Mental Health Board meeting

The Merced County Mental Health Board will hold its monthly meeting 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at 1137 “B” Street in Merced. Dr. Isabel Manuel, medical director of the Marie Green Psychiatric Facility in Merced, will be the guest speaker during the meeting.

‘The Winter’s Tale’ auditions

Merced Shakespearefest will hold auditions for its 2015 winter play, Shakespeare’s romance “The Winter’s Tale” at 10 a.m. Nov. 22 at Playhouse Merced, 452 W. Main Street in downtown Merced. VFW steak fundraiser

VFW Post 9946 is scheduled to hold its Steak Dinner Fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at 1390 Broadway. The dinner includes steak cooked to order, a baked potato and a roll. Cost is $10 in advance, $12 at the door. For more information, call (209) 358-7224.

Staged reading of “Titus”

Merced Shakespearefest will present a staged reading of the Shakespeare tragedy “Titus Andronicus” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Playhouse Merced, 452 W. Main Street in downtown Merced. Tickets are $5 at the door. For more information, call (209) 723-3265.

Franklin-Beachwood meeting

The next Franklin-Beachwood Municipal Advisory Council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 19 at Franklin Elementary School, 2936 Franklin Road, Room 21. Lindsi Cosyns, development director with San Joaquin Valley Christian School District, will talk about the plans for the new preschool through 12th grade school in the Franklin-Beachwood area. Flapjack fundraiser

Merced Applebee’s is hosting a Flapjack Fundraiser to benefit Wayward Ponies’ Home 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Nov. 29, 1734 W. Olive Ave. Tickets are $8 each and may be ordered by sending a check made out to Wayward Ponies’ Home, P.O. Box 336, Catheys Valley, CA 95306. They will also be sold at the door. Le Grand church bazaar

Le Grand United Methodist Bazaar and Brunch is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 15 at Baxter Hall and the Meditation Garden, 13065 Adams Street in Le Grand. A buffet-style brunch will be served from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Tickets will be available at the door for a donation of $5. Children age 10 and under eat free. There will be a prize drawing. Tickets for the drawing are $1 each or six for $5. All proceeds go to the new roof and repair of the bell tower on the historic 132 old church building.

Atwater church revival

Atwater Christian Life Center is scheduled to have a church revival at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 and 10 a.m. Dec. 7. Scheduled guest speaker is Duane Brookshier of Truth Tabernacle from Hemet. The church is located at 1200 Shaffer Road in Atwater.

Hunting and Fishing Collectible Show

A Hunting and Fishing Collectible Show is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 16 at The Sportsmen’s Club, 13989 Mercey Springs Road in Los Banos. There will be wildlife and sporting art, antique duck decoys, rod, reels, tackle, lures, and vintage hunting and fishing items. Admission is $5; kids under age 12 are free. Free parking. Successful Thinkers Network Meeting

Speaker and songwriter to appear

Humorist, songwriter and inspirational speaker Aaron Wilburn is coming to Merced. A featured artist on many Gaither Homecoming videos and tours, Wilburn’s comedy routines have garnered over 15 million views on YouTube. As a songwriter, he has received multiple GMA Dove and Grammy awards nominations over the years. He is scheduled to appear 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Temple Worship Center, 2740 N. Highway 59 in Merced. Free admission. Also scheduled to appear is Bridge of Grace.
