Club Mercedes family-style dinner

The Club Mercedes family-style dinner will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at 569 W. Ninth St. in Merced. The cost is $20 per ticket. The meal will include barbecued chicken, rigatoni, green salad and rolls. Proceeds will benefit the Kids Party Fund and Club Building Fund. ‘Secure Your Identity’ event in Atwater

The Atwater Police Activities League will host its annual “Secure Your Identity” event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart Supercenter, 800 Commerce Ave. in Atwater. Bring documents to be shredded on site. First two boxes per car are free and a $3 per box donation would be appreciated for additional boxes. Proceeds benefit Atwater Police Activities League. Skate park fundraiser on Saturday

Scholarship fundraiser in Winton

Merced County Republican Women is hosting a scholarship fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the River Oaks Range, 11570 Shaffer Road in Winton. Atwater FFA plant sale

The Atwater High School Future Farmers of America program will host its annual fall plant sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 at the Atwater High School Agriculture Department. For more information, go to AtwaterFFA.org. All proceeds will support the school’s FFA and horticulture program.

Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge

All boys and girls ages 9 to14 are invited to participate in the local-level competition for the 2015 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge. The free local competition will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Livingston’s Max Foster Sports Complex. Participants have the opportunity to win trophies and soccer balls. Atwater High School homecoming parade

The Atwater High School homecoming parade is going to be at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2. at Fosters Freeze, 1401 Winton Way, and will end at Atwater High, 2201 Fruitland Ave. School officials invite car clubs, local business and any other organizations to join the festivities. Harvest of Quilts event in Merced

The Merced Gateway Quilters Guild will host its Harvest of Quilts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 3 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 4. at the Merced County Fairground Pavilion. Some items will be for sale or may be won through a boutique raffle. Activities for adults and children, including a treasure hunt for children, will be available. A lunch including a potato bar, salad and pie will be served along with drinks and desserts. Adult tickets are $7, and children 12 and under who are accompanied by an adult with a ticket are free.
