Sierra Art Trails studio tour

The Sierra Art Trails open studio tour will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in homes, studios and galleries throughout more than a dozen Yosemite-area communities of eastern Madera and Mariposa counties. The exhibit will feature a variety of media including painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, fiber art, woodcarving, ceramics and glass. Storytime at Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble will host a Storytime for Kids event at 11 a.m. Saturday at 1720 W. Olive Ave. Children can hear the story “We’re in the Wrong Book,” by Richard Byrne. The event is free. For more information, call 209-386-0571.

Walk for Life and Fun Run

The Alpha Pregnancy Help Center, a nonprofit organization that offers free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, will have its annual Walk for Life and Fun Run on Saturday. The event will kick off at 9 a.m. at UC Merced. Activities will include music, food and obstacle courses for kids. Suggested registration donation is $10. To register, go to www.alphaphc.org.

Pride in Your Ride car show

The “Pride in Your Ride” auto show in support of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life will take place Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at MaCready Park, at the Merced Regional Airport. Mariposa Farm Bureau fundraiser

The Mariposa Farm Bureau will be holding its annual ribeye steak dinner fundraiser Oct. 10 at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, Building A, 5007 Fairground Road in Mariposa. The doors will open at 5 p.m. for social hour with a hosted bar, and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.. Tickets are $35 per person or $250 for a table for eight. Children under 5 are free. La Grange Odd Fellows breakfast

La Grange Odd Fellows will host a breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Oct. 11. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, sausage, ham-and-cheese omelets and French toast, all for $6. Merced County Genealogical Society meeting

Lewis M. Ruddick, a past president of the Genealogical Society of Stanislaus County and the editor of the society’s newsletter, “Stanislaus Researcher,” will address the Merced County Genealogical Society at 1 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Gracey Room of the Merced County Library, 2100 O St. The meeting is open to all; no membership is required.

Merced Elks golf tournament

The Merced Elks Lodge will hold a charity golf tournament Oct. 17 at Rancho Del Rey Golf Course, 5250 Green Sands, Atwater. It is a shotgun start at 9 a.m. and check-in time is 8 a.m., with lunch available at the end of the tournament. There will be raffle prizes, team prizes and closest-to-the-hole prizes. Fall Into Autumn event
