Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group
The Merced Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group’s next meeting is from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffmeister Center, 1920 Canal St. in Merced. If your toes/fingers and or feet/hands tingle or feel numb, you might have peripheral neuropathy. You are not alone. A discussion and informative handouts will be available. New Beginnings fundraiser in Merced
New Beginnings for Merced County Animals is hosting “Whine and Whiskers,” a wine and hors d’oeuvres fundraiser from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pageo Lavender Farms, 11573 Golf Link Road in Turlock. Tickets are $30 each or $300 for a table sponsorship and may be obtained at Christina’s Fine Clothing in the Bear Creek Plaza, Maciel’s & Co. in the Merced Mall or Valley Animal Hospital. Storytime at Barnes & Noble Merced
Barnes & Noble will host a Storytime for Kids event at 11 a.m. Saturday at its Merced location, 1720 W. Olive Ave. Children can hear the story “Pete the Cat & the Bedtime Blues Storytime.” The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 209-386-0571.
Harvest Time yard sale
Harvest Time Food Ministry will host a fundraising yard sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at R and 10th streets in Merced. The event raises money for the program, which provides food boxes to families in need. Fore more information, call 209-723-2395.
NAACP banquet
Merced County’s NAACP Chapter 1047 plans its annual Freedom Fund Banquet, themed “Today’s Choice = Tomorrow’s Success,” at 7 p.m. Saturday at Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. The social hour is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person or $500 for a table of eight. Pride In Your Ride car show
The “Pride In Your Ride” auto show in support of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Macready Park at Merced Regional Airport. The event is free to the public, but donations are accepted. Preregistration for autos is encouraged. Registration comes with a $10 entry fee.
