Guest speaker at church luncheon
Edward J. Lund, certified risk management consultant with Harvard Risk Management Corp., will be the special speaker at the monthly Keen-Agers Luncheon at Atwater Baptist Church, 2124 First St., at noon Tuesday. Lund will discuss identity-theft issues and answer questions for seniors. The community is encouraged to attend.
Turkey Trot Fun Run

Church bazaar
Apostolic Tabernacle Ladies Auxiliary Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2745 E. Highway 140 in Merced with gifts, crafts and more. Come join the fun and celebrate the holidays. For information, call (209) 723-0545.
Coat drive
The United Way is sponsoring a coat drive to benefit those in need in the community. Please donate new or slightly used coats to United Way of Merced County at 658 W. Main St., Merced. They can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Westside office hours for Gray/Cannella
State Sen. Anthony Cannella’s staff, in partnership with Assemblyman Adam Gray, will hold mobile office hours in Los Banos and Dos Palos on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 520 J St. in Los Banos, and 2:30 to 4 p.m. at 2174 Blossom St. in Dos Palos. Staff will be able to provide assistance to constituents on a variety of issues, including assistance with DMV, Employment Development Department or matters involving other state agencies or state legislation. Gospel concert
Julie-N-Friends, an evening of gospel music, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Christian Life Center, 650 E. Olive Ave. in Merced. The talent lineup includes the Chordsmen Quartet of Fresno; Doug Wiley of Boise, Idaho; Sheri Stambaugh of Modesto; and local artists Rachel Rivero, Bridge Of Grace and Sweet Harmony. Admission is free.
La Ultima Risa closing party
Mariposa Art Company will be throwing a “La Ultima Risa Closing Party” featuring the music of Tres Muertos, a three-piece psychobilly band from San Fernando. The show is 7-10 p.m. Saturday at 1637 M St. in Merced. The closing party will be the last chance to purchase artwork from over 30 different local artists. This is a free event.
