Annual Pedrozo dinner

Supervisor John Pedrozo will host his annual Portuguese beans and linguica dinner at 5 p.m. Wednesday, at El Nido Community Hall, Highway 59 in El Nido. All-you-can-eat linguica, Portuguese beans, rolls, salad and beverages will be served for $25 per person; takeout is available.

Halloween wonderland at Applegate Zoo

Applegate Park Zoo will soon be transformed into its annual Halloween wonderland from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings. There will also be carnival games just outside the entrance gate. Put on a costume and come join us for an enjoyable and safe trick-or-treating event. Entrance fee is still only $1.50 for anyone more than 2 years old and there will be fun for all.

Storytime at Barnes & Noble Merced

Barnes & Noble will host a Storytime for Kids event at 11 a.m. Saturday at its Merced location, 1720 W. Olive Ave. Children can hear the story “Click, Clack, Boo!” by Coreen Cronin. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 209-386-0571.

Summit Christian School golf tournament

Summit Christian School is having its first annual golf tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sierra Meadows Country Club. Entry fee per player is $100, and 50 percent will go to the Christ Centered school in Mariposa. For more information, call 209-966-7636 during office hours.

Lions in Sight Event in Livingston

The Lions White Cane Road Block to collect money for Lions in Sight will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Main and F streets in Livingston. The project is an International Lions Project that recycle eyeglasses, has eliminated river blindness, and is working on all other causes of blindness around the world. Tiny Tots Pumpkin Party in Merced

The City of Merced is inviting families to the annual Tiny Tots Pumpkin Party that will take place Oct. 28. The event is a time for children between ages 3 and 6 to decorate a pumpkin and partake in other Halloween fun. Costumes are welcome. The party starts at 5:15 p.m. at Merced Civic Center, 678 W. 18th St. The cost is $5 per child. Space is limited so preregistration is required. To register, call 209-385-6298.

AARP Merced’s Fraud Prevention Town Hall

AARP Merced and Adam Gray are hosting a Fraud Prevention Town Hall from 9 to 11a.m Oct. 28 at Merced Senior Community Center, 755 W. 15th St. The CSLEA Consumer Protection & Public Safety Foundation has teamed up with the State Bar of California and state legislators in an effort to protect citizens against identity theft and consumer fraud. Barbecue ribs will be served for $5. The meeting is open to the public.

Drive-thru pasta dinner

The Buhach Colony Music Boosters is having a drive-thru pasta dinner from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at Buhach Colony High School. Dinner will include pasta, salad, and a roll. Tickets are $10 for an adult, and $8 for a senior or child. For more information or to buy tickets, call 209-947-1133.

Annual Christmas parade and gift fair in Livingston

The city of Livingston is looking for vendors and parade entries for its 14th annual Lighted Christmas Parade and Gift Fair, to be held Dec. 4. The gift fair will begin at 5 p.m. on Main Street and the parade will begin at 7 p.m. at Memorial Park on Main Street and end at D Street. Activities include Christmas caroling in the streets. Vendor space is available for $25. Vendors will be taken as space permits. Parade entries are free. This year’s theme is “Home for the Holidays.” Entry forms and booth applications are available at City Hall, 1416 C St. or at www.livingstoncity.com.
