MS Challengers meeting

MS Challengers, a monthly self-help group for people with multiple sclerosis and their families, will meet from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church, 500 Buena Vista in Merced. New pastor at St. Luke’s Anglican Church

St. Luke’s Anglican Church welcomes its new pastor, the Rev. Ryan Bradley, from Whittier. Bradley’s installation is set for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the church, 350 W. Yosemite Ave., Merced.

Golden Agers dinner in Los Banos

The next dinner hosted by the Golden Agers will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Grand Room at Los Banos Community Center, 645 Seventh St. Turkey with all the trimmings will be prepared by Espana’s. Dinner tickets are $10 for members and $11 for guests. The cut-off date for purchasing tickets is Nov. 13. For more information, call 209-827-7034.

Merced-Atwater Tea Party meeting

The Merced-Atwater Tea Party’s monthly meeting will be held at Atwater Memorial Hall, Fifth and Broadway, Atwater, at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19. Jack Mobley, candidate for Merced County District 4 supervisor, will address the group. There will also be the monthly straw poll for the 2016 presidential candidates. The meeting is open to the public.

Mariposa Art Company workshop

Mariposa Art Company is set to host a free Inking 101 workshop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the gallery at 1637 M St. in Merced. The class focuses on technique, tips and tools. Merced Golden Lions bingo

The Merced Golden Lions present bingo at 11 a.m. Nov. 21, at the Boys & Girls Club, 615 W 15th St., Merced. $20 for 20 games. Food available.

NAUS Next Meeting

The National Association for Uniformed Services, H. Wayne Hein Chapter 18, will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 21, at the Castle Air Museum Banquet Room. The guest speaker will be Mark Hendrickson, director of community and economic development for Merced County. Blog your family history

Robyn Echols, editor of the Merced County Genealogical Society’s newsletter “The Family Snoop,” will show you how to start your own and how this may further your family research at the Merced County Genealogical Society meeting in the Gracey Room, Merced County Library, 2100 O St., 1 p.m. Nov. 21. The meeting is open to all; no membership is required.

Merced SPCA seeks foster families

The Merced SPCA nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter needs foster families for some of their animals. Call the shelter 209-384-7722 or 209-761-7174. Orientation on fostering will be given. Additionally, they also are in need of clumping litter. Call the shelter or 209-723-2574.

United Way coat drive

United Way is sponsoring a coat drive to benefit those in need. Please donate new or gently used coats to United Way of Merced County at 658 W. Main St., Merced. They can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Nov. 16 through Jan. 30.
